After a successful 20 year career as an executive recruiter I am shifting my focus to documenting how new technologies are impacting, and many times changing, employment. Social Media, including LinkedIn, Facebook and others, offers both recruiters and those in career transistion new tools and methods. I want to show how to take advantage of those changes.
My focus is executive search, Big Billers, using social networks, Boomers In Career Transition, Coaching, and publishing books (Audio & Printed) focused on exceptional success. The first in a series of Audiobooks about Big Billers in the recruiting industry is simply titled Big Billers. The book's home page is at http://www.BigBiller.org.
I recently published my book with Des Walsh titled LinkedIn For Recruiting and published by Happy About (click here for more information). All told I interviewed over 50 employment industry leaders, Big Billers, writers and bloggers to understand and share with others the best way for recruiting professionals to use this incredible networking resource. All 50 live interviews are part of the book and I created a concept of a PodBook (half book / half podcast). In addition to over $500 of bonus items it comes with a very pragmatic and specific roadmap for using LinkedIn. See the book at http://www.HappyAbout.info/linkedin4recruiting.php or at http://www.MyPodBook.com.
My latest three ventures involve showing recruiters and job hunters the ins and outs of social network along with helping seniors and boomers launch a successful career or business. Along with documenting the changing world of networking I'm putting together information on working virtually, which details how individuals and organizations are virtualizing their business and lives. EmploymentDigest.net is an example of one of the career news and aggregation blog I maintain that documents that change.
My executive search and recruiting business pages are at http://www.VickAndAssociates.com. Amongst other things I am a HeadHunter (and proud to claim the title) and recently celebrated my 20th year helping leading consumer product and technology companies hire the best and brightest stars available.
Coaching recruiters and sharing with them the many techniques, tips and ideas I gathered in writing the Big Biller book created a Recruiter Coaching business. I've talked to way too many recruiters who are frustrated with their recruiting business and are 'stuck'. I help them get un-stuck and back on track. Please visit http://www.XtremeCoaching.org. You can download a free white paper detailing the highlights of what makes a Big Biller a Big Biller at XtremeCoaching.org.
I maintain three not for profit web sites. The newest is http://www.XtremeRecruiting.org. XtremeRecruiting is a videocasting site focused on interviews with the recruiting industries super stars and authorities in the Social Media area. The recordings of live MP3 and Video interviews are free for downloading or listenting. My focus on XtremeRecruiting is to understand what a good recruiter needs to do in order to become a big biller. A big biller is somebody who habitually bills over $1 Million per year and each week I interview big billers who share the nuts and bolts of their business.
The second not for profit web site is EmploymentDigest at http://www.EmploymentDigest.net Employment Digest is a employment news aggregator. I read articles daily and share what I feel are the important ones on EmploymentDigest. It is a free site geared to helping experienced executives move their career and lives to the next level.
The third is the Phoenix Link - a free career resource with a focus on helping those with some grey in their hair and fire in their bellies. Located at http://www.ThePhoenixLink.com, it provides career resources and is freely accessed by staffing and recruiting professionals seeking experienced executives.
